The breakfast was very nice, I did not expect scrambled eggs. Andrea does a great job and works very hard to keep us happy. The pancakes with strawberrys and bananas was beautifully presented. I felt like I was at grandma's really nice mansion spending the night. Debra made dinner reservations for us before we arrived and got them changed the same day because we were running late. If you appreciate beautiful surroundings, antiques and history this is the place to stay. Our stay was not perfect but they did an excellent job to keep us happy. Extremely quiet, gorgeous up to date bathrooms, well appointed parlor with history books about chicago, mansions, etc. Very classy dining area with linen napkins and table cloths. Old world charm.
They appear to have a problem with the showerheads clogging bacause of the city water, not due to water pressure because I talked to the owner and she has installed a pump to increase the pressure. When we stay there again I will ask her to check the showerhead before we arrive

The mansion has a lot of beautiful historical furniture pieces and architecture in general. It is a very beautiful location but is surrounded by factory buildings and is far away from a lot of attractions. If you are staying there for just a conference or event at McCormick place it is a great location.
The only downfalls were the location in relation to attractions and that the breakfast was not great and was only a couple hours long, which were not at a convenient time if attending conferences.

I think the staff was polite the ambiance wonderful. I felt like a princess till I discovered the down side of this hotel.
my phone did not work and was not repaired, the armoire missed a handle and some paint was chipped off. There was nobody available to return my keys. This hotel is ok for a vacation or languid stay but not suitable for the tired business traveler that I was.It was hot and there was no way to cool down I will stay at the Hyatt or Sheraton next time. The claim is that this is a 4 star hotel. In terms of service and services I would disagree.

I really loved everything about my stay. We all found it to be peaceful, tastefully decorated, and clean. It is within walking distance to Soldier Field which was nice for us, as we attended a concert there during our stay.
We stayed on the third floor which was not as cool as the floors below. We had a hard time sleeping because of the heat. The ice maker had melted into one solid cube; but we managed to get it out, so new ice could be made for the next day.

The quiet elegance of the hotel was perfect for a relaxing stay. The rooms are lovely, the hotel being a renovated mansion. Perfect in every way.

Very nice mansion which has been converted into a hotel. The amount of work put into decorating the hotel must have been enormous. There are only 11 rooms available.
It was very hard to check in. Doors were locked and it was not obvious what to do. Turns out that you need to call their number to get someone to come down. The lack of staff on duty makes it seem that it is hard to get service. It is understandable that they could not afford full time staff given only 11 rooms. Also, be warned that there is no elevator for the rooms on second and third floor. In the summer, the rooms on the third floor can get too hot even though there is air conditioning.

This place is beautiful, comfortable, and was in walking distance to almost everything. The staff was very helpful and kind. Oh, and there is a neighborhood farmers market in the yard on Wednesday nights that is just awesome, live music, great local food. It was a great experience.

An elegant old mansion B&B which was quiet and comfortable. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs and requests and were very friendly.
Breakfast began at 9:30 am and was good, but fairly simple.

We were welcomed by Stephanie Lu and she is the best!!! Very, very friendly! She offered an excellent service and is the nicest girl we have ever met! She helps you with all questions and arranges everything with a big smile! The rooms were very good accommodated and this boutique hotel is located on walking distance on the Mc. Cormack Place! A very unique experience!

This is a good-old fashioned mansion built at 19th century. Staffs are kind and friendly. Good access to McCormick Place convention center.
It is inconvenient for business persons that breakfast is served only in the late morning.
